Ireland Launches Investment Schemes

IRELAND - The Irish Sea Fisheries Board has launched two schemes to helps producers. Grants are available for capital investment in aquaculture systems as well as for the development of the seafood processing industry.

Commercial Aquaculture Development Scheme

The Commercial Aquaculture Development Scheme provides grant assistance, at a rate of up to 40 per cent of eligible investment costs, to promote the commercial development of aquaculture on a basis which is financially, technically and environmentally sustainable.

Applications should be submitted to the agencies at the addresses listed below before five pm on Friday the 20th August 2010.

Seafood Processing Business Investment Scheme

Applications are now being sought for grant aid under the Seafood Processing Business Investment Scheme. This Scheme provides grant assistance to promote the development of the seafood processing industry and provides for grant aid at a maximum rate of 25 per cent of eligible capital costs, subject to available funds.

Applications should be submitted to An Bord Iascaigh Mhara at the address listed below before five pm on Friday the 20th August 2010.
