This is demonstrated by projects that are fully funded by the Aquaculture Industry Environment Fund.

Since 2011 the fund has allocated over 17 million to survey escaped salmon in 62 rivers in western Norway, central Norway and northern Norway. The projects are carried out under the auspices of the river owners themselves or by external experts with expertise in the wild.
