Long-Term Monitoring Of Contaminants In Fish

Welfare +1 more

GERMANY - The German research vessel "Walther Herwig III " from the Max-Rubner Institute has been out in the Barents Sea collecting data on long-term changes of fish from organic and inorganic pollutants, and environmental radioativity.

MRI scientists are working with Norwegian scientists from the National Institute of Nutrition and Seafood Research ( NIFES ) who carried out parasitological studies on selected fish species in Bergen.

The scientists on board the "Walther Herwig III" will regularly perform area net catches to obtain samples of local fish populations.
