OIE: Viral Haemorrhagic Septicaemia Outbreaks Confirmed in Scotland

SCOTLAND, UK - Two outbreaks of Viral Haemorrhagic Septicaemia have been reported to the OIE by Dr Nigel Gibbens, Chief Veterinary Officer, Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, United Kingdom.

The outbreaks occured on semi-open saltwater farms in Lippie Geo and Vidlin North.

Of the 31,885 Cuckoo Wrasse susceptible, there were 304 cases leading to 304 deaths and 20,829 wrasse being destroyed.

The source of the outbreak is unknown and control measures have been applied.
