Rs 11.42m to be spent for uplift of fish seed units

LAHORE - In order to improve and renovate the eight fish seed production units in the province, the Fisheries Department of Punjab would spend Rs 11.428 million during the current fiscal year.

Director General Fisheries Punjab Dr Muhammad Ayub giving details in this regard informed that under the aquaculture development project, the pending civil works of deepening of fish ponds and other adjoining installations would be completed while new ponds with water supply system would also be constructed.

He further informed that latest equipments to overcome the existing deficiencies would also be provided. Dr Ayub said that for continuous nature of excavation and routine maintenance of pond complex tractors would be provided at nursery units of Fatehjang (Attock), Kotli Arian ( Sialkot), Farooqabad (Sheikhupura), Pir Mehal (Toba Tek Singh) Pirowal (Khanewal), Hasilpur (Bahawalnagar), Muzaffargarh, Shahpur (Sargodha).
