Turning Neglected Ponds Into Viable Aquaculture Ventures

MALAYSIA - With determination, enthusiasm and the know-how, enterprising Dzulkarnain Zainal has transformed neglected ponds into successful aquaculture ventures.

Dzulkarnain, 42, a graduate of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), and assisted by his wife Maznah Ibrahim, has set out to be a leading producer of aquaculture products in the country.

"Something must be done to turn the neglected ponds in this state into productive ones. As someone who was born and raised here, I'd like to expand my business here, in this state," he told Bernama recently.

Dzulkarnain's route to success has been through sheer determination and his willingness to try something new.

Through his aquaculture ventures, we wants to provide employment opportunities to those who want to work in the sector.
