Ag and Fisheries Council to Discuss CFP Reform

LUXEMBOURG and EU - An Agriculture and Fisheries Council meeting has been scheduled for the 12 June. To be held in Luxembourg, the meeting will address Common fisheries policy (CFP) matters.

The Council will be chaired by Ms Mette GJERSKOV, Minister for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries of Denmark.

Within the framework of the CFP reform package, firstly the ministers are expected to adopt a general approach on a proposal for a regulation on the (CFP) and a proposal on a common organisation of markets in fisheries and aquaculture products.

Secondly the Presidency will brief the Council on a progress report concerning the European maritime and fisheries fund (EMFF).

All these points will be debated in public.
