Due to problems with illegal fishing in Ghana, some countries in the EU placed a ban on Tuna from the country, reports GhanaWeb.

The situation has caused job losses and the loss of around €10 million every month.

Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Nii Lamptey Vanderpuije said the government is taking the situation seriously and new tracking devices are to be installed to try and curb illegal fishing.

The implementation might see the tuna export ban being lifted possibly by next month.
