Huatai sources fish oil from Peruvian anchovy (Engraulis ringens) from Friend of the Sea approved origins.

The stock in the fishing area – Southeast Pacific Ocean (FAO area 87) – is not overexploited according to Friend of the Sea criteria. The purse seine fleet is managed sustainably, following a strict precautionary approach, and highly selective gears are used.

Endangered species are not by- caught in the process and marine protected areas are respected.

A full traceability system is in place throughout the supply chain, from the fisheries to the manufacturing facility, assuring no mixing with not approved origins.

“The growing international Omega-3 market expects companies to commit to sustainable sourcing of raw materials,” stated Mr Shujun Li, President of Huatai Biopharm. “Sustainability is a fundamental principle for Huatai.

"We are proud to be associated with Friend of the Sea for a more sustainable future.”

“We really appreciate the increasing commitment of Chinese companies to sustainable sourcing,” added Paolo Bray, Director of Friend of the Sea.
