The highlight of the fest is the live display and sale of premium varieties such as pearl spot (Karimeen) seabass (Kalanji) and red snapper (Chembally) farmed in cage culture by CMFRI-trained farmers. The sale will feature fish directly procured from cage-cultured farms harvested on demand, aiming to connect aqua farmers directly with customers, thus eliminating middlemen.

The initiative focuses on promoting fresh, high-quality fish directly to consumers while showcasing the success of CMFRI's mariculture technology and the efforts of local fish farmers.

The event will be organised by the Agricultural Technology Information Centre (ATIC) of CMFRI in association with Blue Pearl Fish Farmers Producer Organisation (FPO), Kodungalloor. The sales counter will remain open from 7 am to 6 pm until Tuesday.

Members of Blue Pearl FPO, a collective of dedicated fish farmers specialised in cage culture received training from CMFRI’s Mariculture Division.
