This private initiative is being implemented by the agricultural cooperative for rural development (CADR) on the outskirts of Cuimba village and has produced about five tons of tilapia, reports AngolaPress.

The head of the cooperative, Afonso Mbiyavanga, said the project has existed for seven months, with an initial investment of 500,000 kwanzas, having already generated 14 jobs for local young people.

He explained that in the first phase, four tanks for fish farming and whose process is done entirely manually, since the excavation of containers to feed production are available.

According to the fish farmer it was intended, with this experience, support the government's efforts to combat hunger and poverty, as well as the diversification of diet of the population.
