Decline in Icelandic Fish Catch Value During January-September 2013

ICELAND - The total value of Icelandic fish catch was 117.3 billion ISK for the months January to September 2013, according to Statistics Iceland.

Total value of catch of Icelandic vessels amounted to 117.3 billion ISK in January-September 2013, compared with 123 billion ISK in the first nine months of 2012.

Total value decreased therefore by 4.6 per cent between years.

Total value of demersal species accounted for ISK 67 billion; thereof cod ISK 33.6 billion, haddock 8.4 billion, and redfish 10.2 billion.

Total value of pelagic species accounted for ISK 38.2 billion and flatfish catches for 7.6 billion.
