ICELAND - Total catch of Icelandic vessels in August 2012 was 100,401 tonnes compared with 109,814 tonnes in August 2011.

Demersal species accounted for 21,400 tonnes, thereof cod 9,700 tonnes, haddock 1,900 tonnes, redfish 2,300 tonnes and saithe 5,400 tonnes. The pelagic catch was around 76,600 tonnes.

At constant prices the volume of the catch decreased by 1.6 per cent in August 2012 compared with August 2011.
