Infectious Salmon Anaemia Confirmed in Chilo, Chile

CHILE - Infectious Salmon Anaemia (ISA) has been detected in two salmon cages on Chilo Island.

The two outbreaks were detected after a samples were taken from the Invermar farm.

National Director of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Cecilia Fernandez Solis, confirmed that the sample was analysed as being the HPR 7B strain of the virus.

Measures have now been taken to contain the outbreak and surveillance has been enhanced on surrounding farms.

All farms within a 5 mile radius of the effected farm will now be sampled every 15 days.

The two effected cages have now been harvested.
