The FSA warnings about reducing salmon production between spring 2016 to spring 2018 were sent to eight locations, five in Møre og Romsdal and three in Nord-Trøndelag.
"They have had long-lasting lice overruns and therefore they have been notified," says Bjorn Rothe Knudtsen, Regional Director of Agriculture.
The companies that have now received notice are:
- Emilsen Fisk (two sites)
- Marine Harvest (a locality)
- Salmar Organic AS (two sites)
- Central Norwegian Aquaculture AS (a locality)
- Lerøy Mid AS (two sites)
Altogether 21 notifications have now been sent out and more are under consideration.
Farms which are ordered to reduce production may increase it again once they have demonstrated that they are in control of sea lice.
