Angel Moya, coach of the Land Policy and Aquaculture, said the station has ponds and culture laboratories and has an average production of 60,000 fingerlings each month. It also produces native fish species.
Students, interns and representatives of national and foreign institutions frequently visit the station to acquire knowledge about the cultivation of freshwater fish that are produced under this project.
Moya said the training staff provide technical assistance to several farmers in the region.
In Cacharí Fishing Station, 0.15-0.30 g fingerlings are priced at $ 55 a thousand and 0.31 to 0.50 g, $ 60 thousand.
