RWANDA - Under a 10-year lease deal from the government, AQUAHORT Export Ltd/AEL, is to create a fish feed factory with the capacity to produce five tonnes of fish feed per day.

The factory is worth about Rwf300 million, according to Bart Gasana, the manager AQUAHORT Export Ltd/AEL, the NewTimes reports.

Due to poor availability of good quality feeds in the country, fish farmers currently source feed from Israel and Uganda, but this comes at a higher price.

The new factory will therefore benefit fish farmers in Rwanda and should help increase fish production in the country.
