Attractively presented in a 450g pack, the product is ideal for a meal for one or a generous starter for two. The mussels are sourced from SSMG member farms on the West coast of Scotland and Shetland where they are rope-cultivated to ensure succulent and sweet tasting shellfish.

Rob Mitchell, commercial director of SSMG, said: “We are delighted that our Scottish Cooked Mussels in Garlic Butter Sauce has been short-listed for a prestigious Grocer Award. It is superb product that has been extremely well received by consumers.”

In 2011, Scottish Mussels Cooked in Thai Green Sauce produced by SSMG scooped a Silver Medal in the 'Fish Ready Meal Category' of The Grocer Own Label Food & Drink Awards.

The 2013 Grocer Own Label Awards will be held on 28 May at the Hilton Park Lane Hotel in London.
