Sernapesca Makes Regulatory Changes for Aquaculture Sector

CHILE - In order to provide knowledge and understanding of the main amendments in the Law on Fisheries and Aquaculture, in regard to the aquaculture field, Sernapesca has prepared a presentation and an explanatory document summarising changes.

The material was prepared by the Department of Fisheries Administration and is aimed at all users of the aquaculture sector whose activities are governed by these regulations.

Thus, for example, the text explains that in March of each year, Sernapesca is required to prepare an annual report on the activities and supervision actions undertaken during the year, further explaining the results of such enforcement actions.

Furthermore, the document states the creation of an Aquaculture Concessions Register, which will be administered by the undersecretary of the branch. This record should be made public and should be available on the website of the Undersecretary of Fisheries and Aquaculture.
