The memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed during a meeting attended by officials from the Ukrainian Agrarian Policy and Food Supplies Ministry, China-Ukraine Association for International Projects and China National Corporation for Overseas Economic Cooperation.
The two sides agreed to implement a joint project for the development of the Sevastopol Marine Fishing Port in the south western Crimean Peninsula and the construction of fish-processing plants.
"Our common task is to ensure the success of the project given the geographic location of Crimea," Ukraine's Agrarian Policy and Food Supplies Minister Mykola Prysyazhnyuk said.
China also showed strong interest in cooperation with Ukraine in the agricultural sector and in particular in the fishing industry.
Last year, Ukraine received more than $800 million in foreign investment in agricultural projects and it is now seeking to attract about $3 billion in 2013, the Chinese Agriculture Ministry said.
