For the first half of 2013, Viet Nam imported $348,786,626 worth of fish products, down 11.5 per cent, according to figures from VASEP.
The majority of fish came from India at a value of $49,339,391, accounting for around 14.2 per cent, with the main products being shrimp.
A good demand for tuna made Taiwan the second most popular country for Viet Nam. Imports from Taiwan accounted for 11.4 per cent and had a value of $39,718,440.
The US ranked fifth on Viet Nam's import list with a value of $17,575,912. The UK came in 15th at $5,697,410.
