Yemen and World Bank Discuss Fisheries Cooperation

YEMEN - The Minister of Fisheries Wealth, Awad al-Socotri, has discussed cooperation on fishery projects with a delegation of the World Bank.

At the meeting, the minister stressed the importance of maintaining the outcomes of the fifth fish project and utilising them in fisheries sector, reports Yemen News Agency.

He confirmed the importance of the WB's assistance in determining the fish reserves, fisheries research and aquaculture in Yemen, which is one of the most promising sectors of the country’s economy.

Mr Al-Socotri also noted that his ministry is seeking to establish a licensing system to regulate the process of random fishing in order to maintain fisheries wealth.
