This initiative was partially subsidised by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation of Argentina.

The contribution consisted of 56,800 pesos and allowed for important equipment (pump vacuum, a pH meter and an oximeter) to be purchased for the research to be carried out.

In total, the project required an investment of $300,833. The remaining money to reach this figure was provided by the provincial government.

The project objective was to evaluate the quality of fish food made from trout viscera and vegetable meal, to subsequently determine its use as an alternative to commercial aquaculture feed and an inexpensive option for rural family farming in the province of Neuquén.
