Despite its menacing appearance, lionfish is gaining popularity with high-end restaurants for its delectable meat.

As a result of ACIP's assistance connecting Pesbaru directly to end-buyers in Cartagena, the association has gone from selling lionfish at US$6 per kilo to intermediaries to US$8.75 per kilo to end-buyers, representing a 46 per cent increase in sales price.
