During this season it is prohibited to capture or transport species such as sardines, alewife, mackerel, chuhueco and mackerel, among others.

Industrial purse seine fleets of small pelagic fish must remain in port.

The Director of Fisheries Control Resources, Molke Mendoza reported that these measures are in place to conserve these species of fish.

The second closure period for these species is set from 1 to 30 September.
